Set against the backdrop of the failed 2016 coup, its attendant turmoil, and finally the imposition of a state of emergency (OHAL) in Turkey, it only felt natural to put our improvisations in a context that reflected that tension. The basic tracks (drums/bass/synths) were recorded in Istanbul the month preceding the coup, while overdubs & editing/mixing were undertaken over the following months between Volgograd, Istanbul and Athens. All nonmusical sounds were lifted off Turkish news clips from the period immediately following the attempted coup.
